Nas and Jay-Z: A Hip-Hop Wet Dream aka Where’s the Love?

Jay-Z and Nas Before their Initial Beef

For all my readers who listen to hip-hop and haven’t heard. Jay-Z and Nas performed on stage live last week… TOGETHER. They performed a track from Jay-Z’s first album, Reasonable Doubt. Performing the track “Dead Presidents” the crowd went wild. Personally, I have had dreams about a Nas & Jay-Z collaboration since they came on the scene. The streets definitely want it….

“Diddy”, formerly “P. Diddy” also performed with the Lox, with whom he had a ruff period due to a business disagreement.

All this making up has been making me reflect on something. I love all the unity and I’m sure it is in part to the domination of 50 Cent and his unstoppable train, but you know what this brings to light…

WE NEED MORE LOVE IN THE MUSIC….

If you listen to the R&B of the 60 and 70’s era, there was so much soul, so much LOVE in the music. The very few artists that I hear that in today are few and far between. Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Jill Scott (where’s she at?) just to name a few.

Nothing against 50, I like him too and I like his business moves as well. As a constant student of business, you have to respect it. There hasn’t been anything this exciting in the business of sports and entertainment since the Tiger Woods 100 million dollar move. We need more LOVE in the world, but in terms of this music, I would like to see us take it back to a community. Music is so powerful. Maybe the dominance of 50 and his “superfriends” will actually bring about a hip-hop renaissance that takes us back to loving one another.

Moment of Zen - Shelter Island Ferry (GPS)

Filed under: General — Mack @ 8:50 pm

I was floating around in my SUV on the Shelter Island ferry playing around with the wealthy Sunday night when I was mesmerized by the GPS. Perhaps this one is senseless, but it IS, ALAS, this week’s moment of Zen.

The FEAR IS REAL… ummm, well no, but…

Keith Olberman from MSNBC has compiled a complete list that shows everytime there is bad news that comes out of the White House, there is a corresponding Terror Alert. How long before we become numb to the obvious distraction? There were not terror alerts, moreover, if you were a terrorist and your event was on the news, wouldn’t you reschedule? Insanity…

I think the Bush Administration is finally on it’s last legs. The wheels are coming off and even the “die hards” have begun to digress.

“Superhead” Karrine Stephens on the Suze Orman Show

Filed under: General — Mack @ 12:33 am

Ok. All for promoting a book and letting Karrine live, but the Suze Orman show. Plus Suze Orman just seems to be having wayyyyyy too much fun stressing the fact that Karrine had “sex with men for money”! She only said it about 10 times.

Give her a break Suze… Don’t degrade the girl anymore. Just talk about her blowing the 400,000 in two months and keep it moving. Suze gave her two segments. Who’s next? Monica Lewinsky and Lil Kim when she gets out of jail?

I like Suze’s show, but sometimes she’s very condescending. Sell them books Karrine!

You just can’t make this stuff up Wow… I love the guy as an actor, but President? Well, I’m sure Sponge Bob would be a better President than Dubya at this point…
