Nas and Jay-Z: A Hip-Hop Wet Dream aka Where’s the Love?

For all my readers who listen to hip-hop and haven’t heard. Jay-Z and Nas performed on stage live last week… TOGETHER. They performed a track from Jay-Z’s first album, Reasonable Doubt. Performing the track “Dead Presidents” the crowd went wild. Personally, I have had dreams about a Nas & Jay-Z collaboration since they came on the scene. The streets definitely want it….
“Diddy”, formerly “P. Diddy” also performed with the Lox, with whom he had a ruff period due to a business disagreement.
All this making up has been making me reflect on something. I love all the unity and I’m sure it is in part to the domination of 50 Cent and his unstoppable train, but you know what this brings to light…
WE NEED MORE LOVE IN THE MUSIC….
If you listen to the R&B of the 60 and 70’s era, there was so much soul, so much LOVE in the music. The very few artists that I hear that in today are few and far between. Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Jill Scott (where’s she at?) just to name a few.
Nothing against 50, I like him too and I like his business moves as well. As a constant student of business, you have to respect it. There hasn’t been anything this exciting in the business of sports and entertainment since the Tiger Woods 100 million dollar move. We need more LOVE in the world, but in terms of this music, I would like to see us take it back to a community. Music is so powerful. Maybe the dominance of 50 and his “superfriends” will actually bring about a hip-hop renaissance that takes us back to loving one another.
